RED CREEK, AZ

Red Creek Backcountry Airstrip near Pine, AZ in the Verde Vally along the Verde River. Carbon Cub SS, GoPro H8, DJI Mini2 Drone, iPhone 14

1300' long dirt strip. Rising terrain to the west. Mostly one way in, one way out.

After about an hour on the ground, hiking down to the Verde River and checking the place out with Mark as my tour guide, it was time to boogie on out of Red Creek. Takeoff was downhill and we had about a 5 knot headwind in our favor. Very smooth takeoff and a terrific visit to this Arizona Backcountry Airstrip. :)

I’m a professional pilot, but flying back country strip in a taildragger is my true aviation passion. I’ve been slowly learning how to fly tail wheel airplanes with my Uncle for a few years now. We have been taking his Carbon Cub and exploring the backcountry in Arizona. We are just getting started :)
