Description
This is a primitive strip on BLM land. It is public access and frequented by locals and hunters as a place to camp and get out of the village. Park airplanes on the North side of the runway. Softer ground for pitching tents in just across the dry creek bed. A 15 min walk will bring you to the north fork of the Squirrel River. It is cold shallow and wide. Does not seem to be many fish at this location.
Most of the time this strip works best as a land northwest depart southwest strip, but if the winds are strong you can circle north and come down the canyon with a bit of a blind approach to land southwest. The rocks are a little larger than average sized gravel, but 8.50s would be very sufficient.
Enjoy!
