Recommend landing runway 10 (upstream), takeoff runway 28 (downstream) if winds allow. Watch for sprinklers and pipes on the runway. Tiedowns are located at midfield on the river side.  

Garden Valley airport is a jewell in the Idaho state-owned airport system only about a half-hour from Boise.  The runway is regularly irrigated and mowed. Garden Valley is perfect for a day outing, with two covered picnic tables and grills are available. For overnights, several tent camping areas are available along the runway and by the Payette River.  The river along the runway is fishable and moderately productive.  

The Garden Valley Rifle Range is located nearby, which, depending on your preferences, can provide a fun activity or punctuate your picnic with annoying noise.
