Description

Krassel airstrip is located on a bluff high above the South Fork of the Salmon River. Each end of the runway drops off steaply to the river below. The runway is short with trees on the departure end.

There is a Forest Service guard station and helipad located at the airstrip and there may be fire suppression activities operating from the strip.

Camping:
There are no camping facilties at this airstrip, but the Buckhorn Bar Campground is located 3.5 miles upstream from Krassel, and there 10 developed campsites iwth tables, potable water, toilets, adn fire pits.
