Description
Located in southeastern Oregon, the Alvord Desert is a dry lake bed (playa) that can be landed on in the summer. There is no runway, but because the playa is so flat and open, airplanes can be landed in any direction. Wherever you land, be sure to fly over and make sure it is clear and safe.
A hot springs is located on the western side of the playa, near the road. It is marked by a corrugated tin shed that should be easily visible from the air.  The hot springs is on private property, but public use has historically been tollerated.
There are no camping facilities, but plenty of flat spots for your tent or bed roll.
