Description
Some literature calls this the "Beaumont Hotel Airport" with an ID of SN07. This is one of the few airports where you can taxi your airplane from the airstrip to the town (or at least it was a few years ago). There is a nice historical hotel in town where you can spend the night and they serve meals if you want to just "eat and fly". Airplane parking is in the grassy area across the street from the hotel. From the south end of the airstrip, taxi west on the road about 1/4 mile and be sure to stop at the 4-way intersection across from the hotel. The stop sign in your direction is extra tall for planes that ride high in the saddle like Cessna 185's. Approach the intersection cautiously because cars also use the road and should be looking out for approaching airplanes, but don't count on it. Call ahead and make sure the hotel is open on the day you plan to visit - they are closed on some holidays, but I'm not sure which ones. Also, verify with them that planes are still permitted to taxi on the road - it's been several years since I landed there. The apple pie is delicious.
