The airstrip is marked with white rocks. When landing towards the SW (the usual favored direction due to winds) the row of rocks should be on your right hand side with one rocks every 50ft or so. Both ends are marked with a line of white rocks. The runways can be difficult to make out and you do NOT want to land if you are not sure of the strip. There are rabbit holes and island is full of mesh plant supports that stand about 3-4 ft high that blend in just perfectly with the weeds (would nott be a fun day for your prop or airplane belly). The island is frequented by boaters and is affectionately referred to by some as "Rabbit Island" because of the large numbers of rabbits that inhabit it.
As always, land at your own risk!
This island is located upriver from the Little Goose Lock & Dam. Its pretty barren looking, but might be a good place to go practice landings, play in the river, and even camp.
THIS ISLAND IS AN ACTIVE NESTING AREA FOR MIGRATORY BIRDS. ACCESS IS CLOSED UNTIL JUNE 1. (As was read on the signs on the island...oops. Take it as you will)
