Description
AKA, Poverty Flat. Unknown status. One of many airstrips put in to support ranching and agriculture. Michael Kelsey in his book, "Hiking and Exploring the Paria River" 5th Edition, reports on page 260 the airstrip was put in by Rawd Sanders, a crop duster pilot. There are others in the Sand hills put in by or for Harold Bowman Jr.. The purpose of these was making cattle checks much faster. Harold Jr. reportedly owned and flew several airplanes, one of which was a Super Cub and was the one used out in the Sand Hills. Perhaps a good strip for RAF?
