Description
Vosburgh Airfield in the New Cuyama valley is an interesting destination. 7 miles east of New Cuyama L88, which is now open again.
The owner Jason Vosburgh is open to visitors.
The runway has approximately 600 feet of old pavement on the southerly end and the rest is hard packed dirt covered with sand. About 1800 feet in total length
The sand can get several inches thick. The runway is not oriented into the prevailing winds so xwinds are the norm. A row of trees helps to dampen the xwinds on
the south end. Powerlines along the road on the north end.
Windsock is located on the north end by the only taxiway . The valley gets very hot in the summertime with high DAs and strong up and down drafts. Best time to visit, fall and winter.
Owner lives on the field.
